Sustainability Policy
At C+H Collective, we believe good business and responsible environmental practices should go hand in hand.
As a small, independent creative agency, we're committed to reducing our environmental impact wherever practical and making thoughtful decisions about how we work, the technology we use and the services we deliver.
Our approach
C+H operates through a small, remote-first team and a trusted network of independent specialists.
Our flexible working model allows us to collaborate without maintaining a large physical office or the resources associated with one. We believe this is a practical foundation for operating responsibly, while recognising that our activities and digital services still have an environmental impact.
We focus on making sensible, proportionate improvements as our business develops.
How we work
Remote-first working
Our team works remotely by default, using digital collaboration tools to communicate and deliver projects.
We arrange face-to-face meetings when they add value and aim to minimise unnecessary travel. Where practical, we favour public transport and combine journeys to reduce the need for additional trips.
Sustainable digital design
We recognise that websites, digital services and the technology supporting them consume energy and resources.
Where appropriate and within our control, we aim to:
Design efficient websites that prioritise performance, accessibility and usability.
Optimise images, video, fonts and other assets to minimise unnecessary data transfer.
Recommend hosting providers with credible environmental commitments.
Create flexible, maintainable digital solutions that can evolve rather than require frequent replacement.
Consider website performance and resource efficiency throughout the design and development process.
Responsible use of technology and AI
Technology plays an important role in how we work, and we recognise that digital platforms and AI services have an environmental footprint.
We aim to use these tools thoughtfully, selecting appropriate technologies for each task, avoiding unnecessary processing where practical and balancing efficiency with quality and business value.
Print and physical production
While much of our work is delivered digitally, some projects require printed materials or physical production.
Where appropriate, we encourage:
Recycled or responsibly sourced paper and materials, including FSC-certified options.
Print quantities that reflect genuine requirements and minimise unnecessary waste.
Consideration of lower-impact inks, finishes and production methods.
Working with suppliers who demonstrate responsible environmental practices.
We discuss relevant options with clients, recognising that project requirements, budgets and availability will influence final decisions.
Our partners and suppliers
Our Collective brings together independent creative, strategic and technical specialists.
We encourage the people and businesses we work with to consider their environmental impact and adopt responsible working practices.
When selecting suppliers, we consider environmental factors alongside expertise, quality, reliability and commercial suitability.
Working with our clients
We believe sustainability is best approached collaboratively.
Where relevant, we help clients consider practical ways to reduce the environmental impact of their creative, digital and marketing activities.
Our role is to provide informed recommendations and support responsible decisions, while recognising that final choices depend on each client's objectives and requirements.
Reviewing our approach
As a small business, we take a practical and proportionate approach to environmental responsibility.
We do not currently undertake formal carbon emissions reporting or hold an independent environmental certification.
However, we are committed to reviewing our working practices, considering opportunities to reduce our impact and updating this policy as our business grows.
We aim to review this policy annually.
